SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST
Datafruit is looking for an experienced, data-driven business analyst who can bridge the gap between what the business needs and what the data team builds. As a senior business analyst, you work closely with our clients' business units to understand their strategy, processes, services, and the context they operate in. You find and clarify where data can improve decisions and processes, then turn that into clear requirements our engineers and BI developers can build on. You bring broad, long-term experience in analysing business processes and are comfortable being the person in the room who asks "what decision will this actually support?"
What you'll do:
- Lead the analysis phase of data and BI projects, from first workshop to agreed requirements
- Identify, map, and prioritise business needs and improvement opportunities with client stakeholders
- Define KPIs and metrics precisely (business logic, calculation rules, ownership) so everyone means the same thing by "revenue" or "active customer"
- Map business processes and trace which source systems and data support them
- Write clear requirements, user stories, and documentation, and keep stakeholders informed as the project moves forward
- Work closely with our data engineers and BI analysts during delivery, and validate that the result solves the original problem
- Help clients adopt new solutions and find ways to get more value from their data
You'll fit well if you have:
- Several years of experience as a business analyst, ideally on data, BI, or IT projects
- Experience running workshops and interviews with stakeholders at different levels
- The ability to turn vague business needs into precise, testable requirements
- Experience with process modelling (e.g. BPMN) and requirements documentation
- Working SQL skills and experience with databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL), enough to explore data and check your own assumptions
- Independence: you can lead projects and own your work end to end
- Reliability: when you commit to something, you deliver
- Strong command of Estonian and English
Nice to have:
- Experience with data warehouse projects or an understanding of dimensional modelling concepts
- Hands-on experience with Tableau or Power BI
- Data analysis and dashboard-building skills
- Domain expertise in areas like finance, sales, marketing, production, or customer analytics
